Wellness and Career Coaching

I specialise in coaching clients with long-term health conditions who want to make changes to improve their wellbeing. This might be about establishing healthy habits and routines, better prioritising your needs, or finding ways to make your work-life balance more sustainable.

I also work with anyone contemplating a career change to improve their wellbeing. I have a particular interest in coaching healthcare professionals and small business owners in the wellness sector. With experience as a senior NHS clinician and of running my own private practice, I fully understand the personal and professional demands of this work and the importance of attending to your own needs.

My coaching approach is informed by many years of working in healthcare with people with a range of long-term physical health conditions, and my expertise as a Chartered Psychologist. I am further completing a Diploma in Integrative Coaching, and working towards accreditation with the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

What is Coaching Psychology?

Coaching provides a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to explore an area of life where you would like to make change. It is a collaborative partnership where the coach uses active listening, reflective questioning and other techniques to clarify your values, goals, and strengths. A coach does not necessarily give advice, but helps guide you to your own solutions. The aim is to build awareness of the direction you would like to move in and identify what might be getting in the way, so that you feel empowered to take meaningful action.

Coaching psychology uses evidence-based psychological models and techniques to help people gain deep insights into their patterns of thinking and behaviour. The field of Coaching Psychology has grown rapidly in recent years and well-established talking therapies have evolved into coaching approaches that are building an evidence-base in their own right. In coaching, these models are applied to help optimise performance and wellbeing, rather than to alleviate emotional distress.

In my coaching practice, I use Cognitive Behavioural Coaching (CBC), Acceptance and Commitment Coaching (ACC), as well as mindfulness, somatic and visualisation techniques.
